
Personal Background
Charity MacDonald grew up in Arizona, moved to Massachusetts, then Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York City and finally, back to Arizona. She grew up exposed to Native American politics (father, leader of the Navajo Nation 1970-1986, Peter MacDonald, Sr.) and the arts community (mother, Wanda MacDonald, served on several arts committees and created artistic programs for Navajo Nation youth).
Education
She graduated from Cushing Academy, Ashburnham, Massachusetts (College Preparatory School).
College education at Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI (RISD) and later earned certification from New York University (NYU).
Career
She worked with the following organizations in New York City: the NYC Opera, Bear Stearns, Gruppo GFT USA, Prada USA, Ann Inc., and served as a panelist for the New York State Council on the Arts. Freelanced for major companies such as Diageo plc, Holt Renfrew, the International Health Awareness Network, Saks Inc., and The TJX Companies, Inc.







Artistic Journey
From a very young age, she explored various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, music and multimedia installations. Worked regularly with artists: Mudville, Marilyn Carino, Duke Riley, Angie Smith.
Later years, she focused on performance installation art, leading to opportunities in Moscow, Russia (on two separate occasions). Appearing in Moscow's Interview Magazine editorial regarding first performance.
Worked on thirty independent films (feature-length and short) and produced documentary-style videos. Won "Director Special Recognition" award at San Francisco Shorts Film Festival in 2007 and was official selection at St. Louis International Film Festival and Indianapolis Fringe Film Festival.

Public Engagement/Speaking Opportunities
Represented her Navajo heritage as a speaker at the Hiroshima Peace Conference "Building a Just and Sustainable Peace" in 2004, where she shared the stage with Nobel Laureates and other prominent women leaders from around the world.
Featured in Le Monde 2 Magazine regarding the 2004 elections.
Served as Navajo Nation President's Western Agency Representative for a brief but impactful six-month period October 2023-March 2024.
Travel
Travel for work and pleasure includes visits to Japan, Russia, Finland, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Italy, France, England, Bahamas, and Cuba.
